Yutaka Sprague

Graduate Student
Yutaka

Yutaka is PhD student in the Program in Neuroscience. Previously, they received a BS in Computer Science and Neuroscience at Duke University and worked as a research assistant at UCSF. Their previous research experiences with John Pearson at Duke and Saul Kato at UCSF focused on computational methods for analyzing calcium imaging data during whole-brain imaging experiments in larval zebrafish and C. elegans. Yutaka’s research interests revolve around understanding the neurobiological and computational mechanisms behind the brain’s ability to flexibly acquire new knowledge while retaining previously learned knowledge. They take inspiration from a range of fields including computational neuroscience, robotics, and machine learning.
