Emil is a postdoctoral fellow in the lab. Before joining, Emil completed a PhD in computational neuroscience jointly at Karolinska Institutet and KTH Royal Institute of Technology, during which he modeled and analyzed recordings from the neural activity in the rodent basal ganglia. In the Ölveczky lab, he's using bio-mechanical modeling and deep reinforcement learning to understand how neural activity in various brain areas relates to eventual motor control.
